This morning as I was about to leave my house I found a common sight .. (atleast common near my house) I saw the usual bunch of people who were on the way for their morning walk or probably returning back home. While some people held on to their dog's leashes, others their walking stick , a few empty handed and an elite few who carry a plastic bag in their hand. Plastic bag!! At first glimpse one would guess that a milkman had skipped their house that morning, or breakfast was definitely a quick one this morning. But if one were to take a closer look, as I did this morning one would see that these few stopped right along the boundary of my neighbour's house. The reason being my neighbours who has a beautiful house, definitely has a beautiful garden to compliment it.
From that beautiful garden growing along the boundary walls are some of the beautiful flowers.
And the simple reason these people stand there with their polythene bags is to pluck not just one but most of the flowers that grow out of my neighbour's garden.
One would definitely forgive the ragamuffin for doing something like this, but what is most
despicable is that people old and young who seem educated and of the high society indulge in acts such as these. The reason is simple no one be it the deprived or the privileged want to see the fruits of their hardwork. They count on the few like my neighbour who toils to grow those flowers while others go and pluck the flowers of the seeds he has sown.
In some cases the people even pluck the flowers as an offering to God. Realising little the irony of their actions.
And although the offerings may be given to the one who sees all, only he doth give his blessings to the one who barely protests ... my uncomplaining neighbour :)
